21 Pics Of The Worst Moms Of Walmart

A picture is worth a thousand words, especially in the case of these moms who should have chosen to stay home with their kids the day these pictures were taken at Wal-Mart.
We live in such a crazy media-driven world right now that at any given moment, anyone’s picture can get snapped, misinterpreted and shared for all of the internet to see. Just as a picture is worth a thousand words, so can it also portray the most inaccurate of situations.
Mommy-shaming has been coming under fire a lot lately, but these 21 pictures of the worst moms of Wal-Mart also serve to illustrate what not to do when bringing your kids shopping with you. Some of these are definitely questionable, but most of them do show an accurate depiction of what must have went on that day and they will leave you wondering: what the heck was the mom thinking?
From the mom who placed her baby on a disgusting bathroom floor, all the way to the one who abandoned her child in the middle of the parking lot…

21 A Pack With That

Kind of makes you wonder if that’s actually milk in that bottle, doesn’t it? It probably is, but letting your child hold your pack while you browse the magazine rack or whatever else the mother is doing is still very wrong. It’s possible that the kid snatched the pack when she wasn’t looking, so we’ll give this mom a slight benefit of the doubt on that front.
Still though, cigarettes, lighters, alcohol bottles, firearms or any other such adult items should never be within a child’s reach or handed out to hold even for a second. All it takes is a second for the kid to open the pack and stuff some cigarettes in his mouth because that’s what kids do! They’re not the ones who get bombarded with the constant messages about the horrendous consequences of smoking. For them, everything is fun to play with and put in the mouth.

20 Here’s A Good Place

We have all been there: after you have used up yet another tissue box, you finally decide enough is enough and it’s time to go to Wal-Mart for some toilet paper. You apply your warrior face paint (make-up) and decide to brave the crowds with your tot in tow, but when you get there, you realize that you made the crucial mistake of forgetting to pee before leaving. But taking a baby to a public restroom isn’t always so easy. Maneuvering the stroller into the cabin can be impossible, meanwhile everyone is looking at you funny and what if today is the day that you decided your baby would sit in the shopping basket?
The only reasonable thing to do is have your baby do some tummy time on the cold hard floor while you do your business of course.
On the one hand, I can relate with this mama because shopping with a baby is not easy, but on the other, seeing the poor baby on the disgusting floor just makes me cringe and want to throw up. Surely, she could have thought of a better solution?

19 Under Control

No, just no. It’s crazy scary how many pictures there are out there of parents, mostly mothers, just strolling through the aisles while their kid has a plastic bag around their head. Letting children learn from their mistakes is great and all but not when it comes to asphyxiation.
That one little boy sitting in the blue cart attachment actually looks absolutely terrified and with good reason – his mom couldn’t care less that he is probably running out of air! He only looks to be about two years old and at that age, it’s easy for them to get into trouble, but they usually lack the understanding on how to get themselves out of it. Even worse with this one is that by panicking, he would probably be hyperventilating and depleting his air supply even faster.

18 One Strong Back

Looking at this picture, my back instantly aches. Pregnancy has a way of doing a number on your back and then having to lift a toddler basically KO’s it. But for that mother to keep carrying her child until that age… ouch! Even worse is that her child’s weight is causing her to tilt backwards, thus placing all the weight on her back instead of her legs. Maybe she had done it just that one time for a funny picture, but if this is a frequent occurrence, then even a chiropractor may not be able to reverse the intense damage to her back.
It’s great that she’s staying close to her child, but at the same time, he’s more than old enough to walk. That carrier also looks like it’s on the verge on snapping and if it were to break, the kid would most certainly get injured.

17 Mommy Copy-Cat

In the world of crazy car seat safety (and shaming when it’s done wrong), having the child sit in the basket is incredibly dangerous. Without any kinds of restraints, he can get badly hurt. At that age, babies still aren’t 100% coordinated. Although the basket portion is quite small, he could still lose his balance and end up in an awkward position. Not only that but his toes could also get caught somewhere while the mom’s attention is elsewhere.
Now onto the actual source of contention with this picture: the oversized bottle. We can only hope that water is there but without judging too much, it probably isn’t. The recommendation is that all sodas and fruit juices be completely avoided with children because of the high sugar count. It’s best to just stick to milk, formula or water.

16 That Will Make Her Listen

It has been shown time and time again that public shaming is an ineffective way of disciplining. Parents usually resort to such a measure after seemingly exhausting all other options, but it actually has the adverse effect. Public shaming breaks the trust between child and parents. If they can’t trust their own parents to keep them safe emotionally, then what does that say about the rest of the world?
In this case, the teenage girl’s sign reads: “I lie to my parents. Bully my siblings. Disrespect my teachers. I’m 16 and know it all.
The only thing that will happen in this case is that the teen will make sure hide her wrongdoings from her parents. If they can’t catch her doing it, then she won’t have to wear the sign – that’s pretty much all that is being taught here. Although it’s not easy, it would be much better to try and get to the bottom of why she’s acting out instead.

15 Skin To Skin

The importance of skin to skin can’t be stated enough and at least she gets props for trying to do that. Major down votes on her method though as it’s just beyond unsafe. That poor little baby could easily slip out from the sides or the bottom and hit his head. Babies are resilient but all it takes is for them to fall badly one time.
Baby carriers can be overwhelmingly expensive and hard to find in the right size but there are still so many better options available out there for taking your child shopping with you. Be it in a wrap-type of carrier, a stroller or even more ingeniously, perhaps even one of those shopping cart hammocks for babies! Despite the poor choice of method, it’s still pretty great that this mama didn’t let having a baby stop her from getting out of the house.

14 Who Needs Naps

Babies like to put everything in their mouths. It can be funny to get them to hold a beer bottle or any other thing that they wouldn’t normally be allowed just for the sake of getting that perfect funny picture. It’s quite possible that this picture of a baby appearing to drink a can of Red Bull is innocent, but there are also high chances that it’s not. Parents let their children have all kinds of things that they shouldn’t have. Others will give in and let their kid have an energy drink or any other “bad item” to get the embarrassing temper tantrum to just stop already.
Giving into these kind of things can be incredibly nefarious though, especially in the case of energy drinks. Even many adults have trouble keeping the energy and sugar rush down, making it that much worse for little babies.

13 Healthy Eating

Can the child even breathe under the mountain of all that food? It’s quite the impressive work of Tetris, but one that is nonetheless incredibly unsafe for her. I guess there is no risk of overheating since although she is wearing a winter jacket, she appears to be surrounded by frozen food…
Overheating aside, there is still the risk of suffocation, which can happen under all kinds of weird situations. We have all heard of kids suffocating to death after slipping in between the bed and the wall. We can’t exactly see what’s in front of her face, but judging by the loaded cart, there’s a good chance that there is food close to her face as well.
Not only that but the overflow of unhealthy food choices also deserve a mention. Let’s just hope that the kid is offered healthier alternatives.

12 Hanging On For Dear Life

A vast number of mommies are shamed every day for breastfeeding in public and there is certainly nothing wrong with this mommy doing it. What is wrong though is the way in which the baby is on the verge of falling. There are much safer ways of breastfeeding a baby while walking, but they all involve the baby actually being supported somehow – be it through the mother holding him with her arms or through strategically being placed in a sling.
As with most pictures of people at shopping at Wal-Mart, there is even more mistakes with this picture. Aside from the baby hanging on for dear life while the oblivious mom shops around, there is also the fact that it’s unsafe to place the car seat to the top of the shopping cart because of the high risk of it toppling over.

11 Mommy Is Busy

Kid leashes are controversial items. Some swear by them, while others call parents lazy for even thinking to use one. Whether they are used or not, the kid still needs to comply and agree to go wherever the parents wants to go. The only problem with this logic is that kids like to assert their independence, refusing to go a certain way or doing something just because they don’t feel like it.
In the face of the millionth temper tantrum, some will pick up their kid and leave, others will try to wait out the storm, but others are so far down the “I-don’t-care” tunnel that they will merely continue going about their business. The effectiveness of this method is to be disputed, but let’s hope that she never had to employ this method again as it doesn’t look very safe.

10 Champion Of Naps

What’s more shocking: the baby about to fall out or the person who decided to snap a picture instead of quickly alerting the mother? Either way, both are in the wrong. Unlike the lady mentioned previously who placed her baby inside the top portion of her dress, at least this mother has hers in what appears to be a sling. By the looks of it, she certainly needs to read the instructions before placing her baby in it. It’s great that she’s carrying the child but by solely wrapping the sling around her torso and not around her shoulders, it’s placing the baby at an immense risk of falling out, as evidenced by the picture (not to mention the terrible neck support).
At least she’s down with her shopping and is headed towards her car. Hopefully, the baby made it to safety and that she realized her mistake later.

Setting The Best Example

With her two young sons in tow, this mother chose to wear a dress that only half covered her behind. Just like the cases of parents going shopping in their underwear, this one too can’t be overlooked. Mom shaming has gotten out of hand lately, but then again so have the clothing choices of some parents.
Granted, with pictures, you don’t always know the full story. It’s possible that her dress had merely ridden up or the wind had blown it up at just the perfect time. Although, the logic with the latter fails when you consider that had her dress been long enough to cover her buttocks, then whoever snapped the picture likely wouldn’t have done so in the first place. In any case, it might be a good idea to re-think that dress next time or maybe wear it with solid-colored leggings.

No Pants Day

Speaking of shopping in your underwear, this woman definitely takes the cake. At least her son is dressed, so she does get some redeeming point there. Some might argue that those are shorts and it’s quite possible. But based on appearances and the fact that whoever snapped the picture decided to take it for a reason, we’re going to guess that the reason was that she was indeed wearing underwear.
The internet is overloaded with people shopping at Wal-Mart and other stores in just their underwear, but hopefully, this is one trend that won’t be overtaking the world any time soon. Sometimes, desperate times call for desperate measures. Maybe her son had drawn with permanent marker all over her pants or they were all in the wash. Either way, let us hope that her trip to Wal-Mart involved more pants.

Runaway Kid

There is a lot of hate on kid leashes, but surely even those are better than literally handcuffing your child to the basket? The handcuffs were probably taken from the toy section, but it’s also not outside the realm of possibilities that they may have been brought from home. After all, people do all kinds of crazy stuff! Good thing the internet is there to catch them all.
Kids have a tendency to not listen to a word we say. Or rather they do hear our directions, but they just choose not to follow them. This mom was undoubtedly beyond fed up of repeating herself five million times and figured it would be easier to use handcuffs. Innovative on the one hand, but the other, there would have been nothing preventing him from causing even more trouble using the basket.

Baby Leashes At Their Finest

Kid leashes have been mentioned a couple of times in this article and in this picture, it certainly looks like this boy may be on the verge of hanging himself with one. Pictures can be misleading, so it’s quite possible that an entirely different situation was being played out, but it doesn’t change the fact that he is on the brink of hanging himself. It certainly makes you wonder where the heck were his parents?! It’s hard to keep a constant eye on your kids but a moment of inattention can sure be costly!
Worst still the person taking the picture. Any bystander should immediately have been rushing to his aid, instead of pulling out their cameras and snapping a picture. Even if it, whatever it is, isn’t actually in the vicinity of his neck, there is still the grave danger of falling off the shelf.

Just Cleaning The Floor

Just like the kid who outgrew the privilege of getting carried around in a baby carrier, so did this kid outgrow riding around in the basket. Just like the mom who laid her baby on the bathroom floor, this case too is absolutely disgusting. Granted, it’s possible the mother was too focused on her grocery list to realize what he was doing, but the grandmother was certainly aware enough to realize that their picture was being taken.
This is a prime example of the kid’s snowballing behavior. Rather than dealing with him refusing to cooperate and walk with them, they allowed him to do something that wouldn’t have otherwise been allowed. This in turn led him to put his head on the floor. Can’t really blame the kid for being bored, but you can blame the mother for putting him at risk of getting injured.

Babysitting Service

Every single year, we hear of numerous children who were abandoned in cars that got too hot under the scorching sun. At least this child wasn’t left in the car but leaving her in the middle of the parking lot still isn’t any better, especially when you factor in the basket being made of metal. Under the hot sun, being trapped in a hot basket certainly wouldn’t be any better. At least with this one, there is potential for bystanders to quickly call for help, but there is still something to once again to be said about how someone chose to take a picture instead of rushing to help.
Keeping track of kids when you have a million and other things on your mind can be a challenging, but it still doesn’t warrant forgetting your own child in the basket, especially when you think about how the parent would have brought the basket there in the first place.

Tantrums Don’t Care

Temper tantrums suck. There is no sugar-coating the terrible phenomena that most parents are faced with a on a near daily basis and worst still when it happens in public. Kids have this remarkable ability to throw themselves on the floor in a screaming fit when we as parents are at our wit’s ends.
Even if you have read all the parenting books and know all about how you should get down to their level and talk to them in a calm reasonable voice, sometimes these techniques just don’t work. Who am I kidding? They rarely work, especially not with every nosy-body turning around and staring at you in shameful horror. It’s obvious it wasn’t this mom’s first ride at the temper tantrum rodeo, but to drag the kid certainly wasn’t the answer.

Mommy, What’s That?

It’s hard not to mommy shame in the face of a picture like this one: the barely bum covering short skirt and the rock-and-roll party heels. The outfit aside, what makes this snap the absolute worst is definitely the kid looking up her skirt. If you’re going to wear such a short skirt, then surely you shouldn’t stand over your kid? Boys and girls as early as three and sometimes even two-years-old start asking their parents about “what’s that?” and why do they look different from their mommies and daddies.
This kid is well past that age and undoubtedly knows exactly what he’s doing. The mom probably got caught up in the moment of paying for her items, but there is still something to be said about how the inappropriate line has definitely been crossed here.

Just Like Mommy

This one is a controversial topic right now that has many parents divided. An increasing number of parents have been letting boys dress in girl clothes, but is this right? A hot topic for sure and one that can’t be answered here. Whether this mother should be considered one of the “worst” moms of Wal-Mart is definitely up for debate and depends on everyone’s personal stance on the topic. On the one hand, many would argue that they absolutely shouldn’t have been dressed in girl clothes, much less gone out in public that way. Others would argue that boys and girls alike can wear whatever they like, without it meaning anything.
